London born Kate Chandler traveled the globe in search of perfect winds. 

Her travels took her to the Middle East, Asia, the Caribbean, around Europe.

Eventually falling in love with Taiba, a sleepy fishing village some 70km from Fortaleza.

Kate is a professional kiteboarder and brand ambassador. 

She is also a freelance writer / photographer. 

She is the Blonde half of the hugely popular Brazilian blog 'Uma loura e uma Morena'

Kate has a real passion for life, meeting new people and visiting new places. 

When she's not on the water kiting or surfing, Kate likes to keep busy painting, making art with driftwood or beach rubbish and learning french.

She is also a qualified Hatha yoga teacher and finds a balance between extreme sports and spiritual life.

Kate might be far from her family but always has her faithful four legged friends close by. 

Ameixa (the rottweiler) and Calabresa (the dashund).

 If you spend a little time in Taiba and you will probably spot her taking them for walks along the beach or at the lagoon. 

Ameixa and Calabresa are famous in the kite world and have stared in numerous videos and magazine photo shoots whilst they do what they love most, chase kiteboarders!

Kate loves most typical Brazilian food. She's a huge fan of tapicoa and fish (a Taiba special) acai and fish stew but doesn't like to eat rice and beans!!
