This is the breathtakingly beautiful place where I will be living for the next 2 months, on the African Spice island, Zanzibar. Home will be between the stunning PajebyNight hotel and PajebyKite centre.
PajebyNight is without a doubt the coolest kite hotel I have seen to date. It's unique blend of modern construction with artistic flare, alongside rustic chic, traditional thatched huts is the epitome of cool but environmentally conscious.
Centred around a main bar and restaurant area in which the local kite population congregates each night to create the atmosphere that has made PajebyNight world famous and gives the hotel it's name.
The restaurant at PajebyNight serves an eclectic mix of international cuisine. An à la carte menu offers traditional Swahili, Indian and traditional Italian dishes, along with delicious fish burgers (made with a huge locally caught tuna steak) and snacks, which is served until 10pm each night.
The famous PajebyNight bar serves drinks and dangerously good cocktails from 8am until the last guest leaves, which, on one of the crazy themed party nights is very late indeed.
I arrived the day after one of these fabled events, the instructors at the kite centre were still sparkling from the pervious evenings glitter party. The path to my room was twinkling in the moonlight on the way to rest my travel weary body that night.
If the hangovers get too bad, or the kiting too much, you can always just chill around the beautiful pool which divides the hotel from the kite centre and watch the world (and the beautiful people) go by...
